Dixie’s Tupperware Party
Your Favorite Fast-Talking Tupperware Lady
She’s traveled the world bringing creative food storage solutions, and more, to audiences everywhere. Sharing the laughs, freshness, and inspiring messages of empowerment, this fast-talking, gum-chewing, red-headed spitfire has wowed critics and left audiences rolling in the aisles. One part homemaker, one part bull rider, and one part Oprah Winfrey, she’s three parts something fantastic to behold!
Running from July 16 to August 17, 2025, this will be Dixie Longate’s sixth engagement at the Garner Galleria Theatre. My, my, you are a dirty-minded bunch! Combining the tried and tested MLM method of a real Tupperware sales pitch with Dixie’s unique one-woman show of stand-up, improv, and heaps of audience participation. You get an extensive rundown and an in-depth demonstration with free giveaways of all the alternative uses for your favorite plastic containers. Beyond just the run-of-the-mill humor and rudeness, the show also fills its time with trivia about Tupperware, such as its invention by Earl Tupper and just why you get that “burping seal.” And, to date, Dixie has sold over 2 million Tupperware items, twice ranking as the top seller in America. This is real salesmanship and a fantastic theatrical performance.
This is not only a nostalgic send-up of brightly -colored 1950s vintage consumer culture and Southern sass, it is an actual Tupperware party.
Described as “furiously funny” and a “hoot and holler” by The Denver Post, the show has received praise for its smart writing and comedic delivery. The character of Dixie Longate is portrayed by the show’s writer and producer, Kris Andersson. It is directed by Patrick Richwood, who has been with the show since its earliest days openening off-Broadway in 2007, with lighting design by Richard Winkler and sound design by Christopher K. The show earned Dixie a Drama Desk Award Nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance, losing out to Laurence Fishburne.
This one-woman explosion is full of off-colored jokes, an infectious laugh (more like the snorting of a donkey), FREE giveaways, and an impromptu update of the latest Tupperware inventions.
The rise and fall of Brownie Wise is only the thematic backbone of Kris Andersson’s frenetic, often hilarious, and always endearing one-woman show. With the help of audience members sitting on upstage couches left and right, Dixie, in her baby blue dress with matching eye shadow and headband around outlandish big red hair, launches into her 100-minute infomercial on the wonders of the ware. Among the many audience participants, poor Patrick from the front row had trouble working a revolutionary new can opener while Dixie mimed the right way to do it. It is a great bit of spontaneous physical comedy with Andersson milking the moment for all its worth, yet remaining mindful of how long is too long, as it looked like Patrick would never figure the damn thing out. – Theater Review by Jordan Riefe for The Hollywood Reporter.
The show runtime is 1 hour and 50 minutes, without intermission. Do arrive early for your chance to catch Dixie mingling in the theater lobby before shows and also stay for a bit after for more meet-and-greets and Tupperware orders.
